The Centerville Recreational Soccer League is a community-based recreational soccer league, open to all non-club players, focused on providing a safe and enjoyable environment for each and every participant, and managed by an all-volunteer board and coaching staff. All of our games are played at Oak Grove Park on Social Row Road in Centerville.
Our Fall season accommodates players in divisions U3 – U14 (U14 through 8th grade only). Fall season is more competitive play, and focuses on development for U5 – U14. Scores and standings are kept for seeding for U10 – u14 in the final tournament for U7 and above U7 & U8 are blind draw; and each division are provided with special training sessions coordinated by our Technical Trainers, in addition to their weekly games. In the fall players move up in division when they move up in school grade to remain with peers.
The age/school grade for each division is as follows:
U5 – Pre-K or K U10 – 3rd -4th
U6 – Kindergarten U12 – 5th-6th
U7 – 1st U14 – 7th -8th
U8 – 2nd
U3 – U4 is a developmental division, with players in one-hour sessions on Wednesday evening at either 5:30 or 6:30 sessions with trainers in small groups for development and learning soccer fundamentals. There are no coaches in this division. U3 – U4 players receive a shirt, socks and a size 3 ball at the end of the season that they keep as part of their registration. Players need cleats, shin guards and a water bottle for the season, which runs 8 weeks. The dates will be listed on our website under Training once the schedules are posted.
U5 is the only age group that practices half an hour prior to game time, then play their game. U5 have parent coaches for the first time. U5B practice on Tuesday 5:30, play their games at 6:00, U5G practice on Wednesday 5:30, play their games at 6:00.
U6 and above, the coach determines day, time and location of practices, and games are played at Oak Grove Park.
U12 & U14 are co-ed teams that plays games at Oak Grove. We do not track or control practices, it is entirely up to the coaches discretion.
Your child will be automatically placed in a division based on his/her date of birth (our division cutoffs are based on the child’s age as of 7/31). If your child has a summer/early Fall birth date and you would like him/her to play 1 division up or down with their classmates, please contact us directly with your request immediately after you’ve registered, but before we’ve rostered teams, so we don’t have to make multiple moves of teams.
PLEASE NOTE players are NOT permitted to play down from high school to U14, nor up to high school from 8th grade.
Our season will start with practices in Mid to late August, (coaches pending), and games starting in late August or early September (U6 -U14 games are played on Saturdays) ending with our fall tournament for U7 an older at the end of October or beginning of November (the final dates pending park approval).
START DATE Note: Start dates are contingent on having enough volunteer coaches in place, as well as the parks schedule. Centerville Rec Soccer reserves the right to combine age groups into a single division if we don’t have enough participants or volunteer coaches to support the program. Release of teams is based on having coaches and teams rostered to be distributed. We cannot control the delay in coach volunteers.
Fall soccer program is open to Rec players of any skill level, but is NOT open to any child carded and playing club/select soccer for any team.
We do not take special team or coach requests. Our teams are assigned via random draws. The only way to ensure that 2 players are on the same team is for the parents of those children to coach together. Siblings playing in the same division will be assigned to the same team only upon request, please reach out and notify us when you have siblings together at info@centervillesoccer.com.
Registration fees include a jersey and socks, referee fees, park use cost and OSA membership fees.
Non-Resident Fees – There is a parks district $10 charge for all non-residents of Centerville/Washington Township residents. This is CPWD policy, and 100% of the fee goes to the parks, and is not part of your soccer experience.
Any refunds issued will incur a 4.75% fee that is charged by the credit card processing company. We do not receive any of this money, but cannot absorb the cost to Centerville Rec Soccer.
Spring – Adult Program
Ages 18 and over
Sundays @ Oak Grove Park
Our Adult Recreational Soccer League is designed for adults 18 and older to enjoy the game of soccer in a safe, healthy, social environment. Games are played on Sundays at Oak Grove Park. This season will run from September to November. The cost covers jersey and ref fees for the season of 8 games for fall. Refunds are only issued within the guidelines of our policy (please refer to the Refund Policy for any questions).
Players not on an organized team will be randomly assigned to coed teams as a free agent. All teams need to have a minimum number of female players per team, and must field the same number of female players when applicable. If teams are unable to field the same number of female players, they must play down one male to keep play more even. You can organize an entire team, request to play with friends, and be added to another team as free agents. Players need to specify their team captain during registration to be placed together. Teams play 11 v 11 on a regulation size field, in 40 minute halves. Teams consist of 15 – 20 players, since adults are usually not able to play every week, and allows for subs without reaching outside the program. In the event you have a substitute player, they must fill out a waiver to play the day of each game. Subs cannot play every week on a waiver and not pay the registration fee.
To participate in this program, login or create an account, and register.
This rec league is about having a good time with friends; use of excessive force, foul language, bullying or deliberately trying to inflict harm on anyone is grounds for removal from play, up to ejection from the program. Unwelcome, aggressive behavior or language will not be tolerated under any circumstances. If you want more competitive play, then please look elsewhere. It is up to the referees discretion to issue yellow or red cards, or eject players for inappropriate behavior or language. At no time is aggression or cussing at a referee going to be tolerated.
NOTE: There will be a $10 charge for all non-resident of Centerville/Washington Township residents. This fee is paid entirely CPWD per their policies.
